So the AppleTV has been out for almost 2
weeks now, and it's become pretty evident that the thing is pretty
hackable, I'm seriously considering grabbing one and messing
around with it, I'm thinking a bluetooth dongle, a wiimost sensor
bar and a wiimote would make excellent additions to it, the only
think i wonder about is that for a couple hundred bucks more I
could get a full-on mac mini, which for my purposes probably makes
more sense. hmmm, we shall see how things pan out.
What about you guys? anyone going to get an AppleTV? |

I just gave myself the biggest fright in a
long time.
I've been tooling around with a personal wiki for a while now, a
space to keep school notes, random reminders, lists of things to
get, the list of sockets I need to complete the craftsman toolkit I
never use, things like that.
So i decided to set up a subdomain and install a wiki, i was
tooling around with it once it was installed for about 20 mintues,
then I realised I had somehow installed it OVER my joomla site,
rather than on its own subdomain, total user error.
fortunately I had a backup from my latest joomla upgrade, and just
snagging the index.php file did the trick, but that was a scary few
minutes there while i tried to work out just how monumentally
screwed I was.
You'd think i'd learn after my HD crash that backups are not
optional.
